Jeff Shainline
Jeff earned a B.S. in physics from CU Boulder in 2005 and a Ph.D. in physics from Brown in 2010. He spent 12 years as a scientist at NIST where his research focused on the convergence of semiconductors, superconductors, and photonics. Jeff led a team that pioneered hardware for AI and advanced measurement systems. His work has been cited over 5000 times by the broader scientific community, and he is an inventor on 11 patents. He was interviewed by Lex Fridman in 2021, and in 2024 he was recognized by the White House with a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. Jeff is now the founder and CEO of Great Sky, a startup rebuilding AI using superconductors and light.
